Workshops (select one)
1. Relaxation Breathing Workshop
Everyone can learn to harness the superpower of the breath. In this session, participants will learn the basic science around breathing and why learning to breathe better is important. They will be guided through a variety of basic breathing practices and techniques that will introduce them to the power of the breath to improve mental and physical health and to relax. Breathing is a powerful, readily available relaxation tool that can divert the acute stress response and return the nervous system to its relaxed, restful state. A regular practice of breathing exercises has been shown to reduce anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, PTSD, anger, tension and chronic pain.
2. Activating Breathing Workshop
When you need a boost, you can use your breath to recharge the body, clear the mind, and activate the energy within. And it’s better than coffee because it’s free! In this session, Rebecca will lead participants through several dynamic breathing exercises that boost the energy flow in the body and brain, leading to increased alertness and clarity. Activation breathing techniques are thought to facilitate mental and physical healing, improve self- awareness, and increase one’s positive outlook on life. In this session, participants can experience light headedness, tingling in the hands and arms, a sense of vibration, or a change in body temperature. These results are natural and expected, but if participants feel concerned, they will be encouraged to relax and recover. Relevant use of these activating techniques will be discussed and explored.
After registering for the retreat, please email your preferred breath workshop to anita@piermont.com.au. Spaces are limited, and each attendee must choose one workshop to attend throughout the weekend.
