A fireside feast inspired by Tasmania’s bounty
Join us on 18th July for a fireside feast celebrating Tasmania’s winter harvest with chef, author, environmental activist and changemaker, Jo Barrett.
Named Chef of the Year in the 2024 Good Food Guide and recognised as a World’s 50 Next Pioneer, Jo Barrett is one of Australia’s most compelling culinary voices. Known for her work at Oakridge, the documentary Greenhouse by Joost, and her revolutionary Wildpie, her cooking is deeply connected to the land, championing regenerative produce and wild ingredients.
Set on the open air terrace of Homestead at Piermont, this one night event brings together open flame cooking, seasonal produce and the wild beauty of Tasmania’s east coast. Gather by the fireside as Jo prepares a four course menu inspired by Tasmania’s winter bounty.
Mulled wine in hand, long candlelit tables, open firepits and great company will carry the evening well into the night. Live music to be announced soon!

What kind of food will be served?
Expect an interactive fireside feast celebrating Tasmania’s winter bounty. Locally sourced meats, seafood and seasonal produce will be prepared over open flame.
Where and when is the event?
The event will take place at Piermont Retreat on the open air Terrace and inside Homestead Restaurant on Saturday 18 July from 5pm.
When should I arrive?
Guests are welcome to arrive from 5.00pm for welcome drinks and canapés before the fireside feast begins around 6pm.
What’s included in my ticket?
Your ticket includes the full fireside dining experience with canapés, entrée, main and dessert, and welcome drinks.
Will drinks be available to purchase?
Yes. Tasmanian wines, beer, spirits, winter cocktails and non alcoholic options will be available throughout the evening from the bar.
How is seating arranged?
Guests will be seated at long shared tables in the restaurant, lit by candlelight.

What happens if it rains?
This is an all weather event. Undercover options will be available, however we recommend dressing warmly and being prepared for the elements as parts of the event are hosted outdoors.
Are there vegetarian options?
Yes. Vegetarian options will be available. Due to the nature of the event please note no menu alterations or adjustments can be made.
Is parking available?
Yes, complimentary parking is available on site for all guests.
